Runtech to modify dryer section for improved runnability

Main goal of the project is to achieve good runnability and efficient tail threading at 1,200 m/min on light weights.

Runtech will supply a dryer section modification to a European mill. The delivery includes RunPro EasyOne high release stabilizers for 1st and 2nd groups and drilling of dryers for vacuum rolls. A Gardner Denver low pressure compressor is installed to supply air to EasyOne high release nozzles. In addition, tail threading for 1st and 2nd groups will be converted into ropeless.

Web stabilizers eliminate runnability problems, ensure a fluent papermaking process and enable easy tail threading. With this machine rebuild, the mill will benefit from improved runnability with less breaks and draw, shortened tail threading times and operator safety. Main goal is to achieve good runnability and efficient tail threading at 1,200 m/min on light weights.

Reducing the draw provides the potential to increase machine speed and optimize furnish. The RunPro EasyOne web stabilizer optimizes the web release with a special high-vacuum system during the critical sheet release between the upper cylinder and the vacuum roll. It prevents the web from following the upper cylinder, resulting in fewer breaks and defects.
